I wish to submit the following, duly verified testimony for insertion in the Christian Science Sentinel.
During a recent experience I found myself in a very despondent condition. Business relations had become very inharmonious, and I was suffering from stomach trouble, and for five days had experienced a continual headache. These seeming physical conditions seriously handicapped me in my daily activities, and as a result I had become very irritable. After attempting to heal the situation myself, with no apparent relief, I went to see a practitioner and made an appointment with him for the following day. That evening, on my arrival home, my mother, who had known nothing of the situation, remarked that the religious article in The Christian Science Monitor which had arrived that day was very helpful. That evening, after doing some metaphysical work in an endeavor to heal the situation, I picked up the Monitor referred to and read therein an article entitled, "Avoiding the seat of the scornful." The truths contained therein provided a complete answer to my prayer for relief. It was immediately made clear to me that I had unconsciously been holding resentment toward a newly appointed executive whose position I had felt should have been mine. The lies of self-righteousness and inactivity were immediately uncovered and destroyed, and before retiring I had been entirely freed from the stomach trouble. The next day I explained to the practitioner what had taken place, and with his loving aid I was completely relieved of all my other physical difficulties. On my return to business harmony was apparent, and activity reigned where inactivity had seemed to be so real.
Because I have received many physical and spiritual benefits through the study and application of Christian Science I am indeed very grateful. I am particularly grateful for the aid of those who so lovingly help us on our way, for the Reading Rooms, and for the wonderful periodicals that it is our privilege to read.—
