A number of years ago I was in great sorrow, as one near...

A number of years ago I was in great sorrow, as one near and dear to me had passed on. I found myself visiting different churches, looking and longing for comfort; but I did not find it, until a relative from Kansas visited my home and told me about Christian Science, saying that it would help me in my sorrow. I started to attend the Christian Science church and read the Lesson-Sermons, but error would frequently try to say, You have no time to-day to read the Lesson. I soon found out that if I took the time to read carefully the Lesson daily, I accomplished much more and was happier, gaining the sense of spiritual power, as Christian Science teaches. Needless to say, I soon lost the sense of loneliness.

All my life before coming to Christian Science I had been troubled with eczema, as the physicians called it. This was slow in leaving me, but I was encouraged by a dear practitioner who urged me to persevere until it was finally overcome. Headaches were another difficulty. I was in the habit of taking pills for this trouble. After studying Christian Science I asked for help. The headaches did not yield readily, and I told the practitioner that I thought if I had taken the pills I would have found relief in less time. She very lovingly answered, "You know God has more power than those pills." This healed me of headaches forever, as I soon learned through the study of Christian Science that when one is healed as Jesus taught, one realizes the truth of the statement, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." I am freer than ever through the study of Christian Science.

The regeneration is going on, but there is much still to be overcome. I am convinced, however, that the truth will continue to unfold, with its attendant blessing of "the fruit of the Spirit," in just the degree that Christian Science is sought, understood, and practiced.
