In your recent issue appear some comments on a lecture on Christian Science recently delivered in EI Paso in which questions are raised as to the consistency between certain of the lecturer's statements and the teachings of Mary Baker Eddy; also as between the teachings of Christian Science and those of the Scriptures.
A preacher is reported in your recent issue as having made several misstatements relative to Christian Science, and in order that any false impressions caused by these misstatements may be corrected, and for the benefit of your readers who deserve to be correctly informed, I respectfully ask space in your columns for the purpose herein stated.
In a recent issue of your paper you quoted a paragraph from St.
David Starr Jordan spoke correctly when he said, Religion, like love, can be suppressed and perverted, but religion is the foundation upon which all rest," as quoted in a recent issue of the Champion.
His anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
Joy
is an essential characteristic of spiritual ideas and, in consequence, the spiritualized thought is ever joyous in the consciousness of ever present good.
Christian Scientists
never cease to be grateful for the protection which Christian Science affords them.
