I have read with interest and profit in a recent issue of your paper an article by a doctor relative to toxin-antitoxin, the Schick test in particular, and the question of its introduction into the public schools of Ashland. The main issue involved would seem to be that of medical freedom. Any action tending to give any particular school of medicine or healing a monopoly through its introduction into our American institutions is to be deplored. The use of the government to forward any particular healing method is certainly contrary to the fundamentals of our democratic government, because it would tend to promote monopoly and class legislation and deprive the individual of his right to freedom of choice in the selection of a healing method.
