At the time I took up the study of Christian Science I was without hope, as the doctor said he could not cure me. I had long since given up attending church, and prayed only to be good; and Christian Science was the answer and healer. My healing was not quick, for it took between eighteen and twenty months to accomplish. I remember that while attending a testimony meeting at First Church of Christ, Scientist, in St. Louis, I heard a gentleman give a testimony of healing of the condition I was laboring under, and I wondered at the time whether he had really been healed or just thought so. I know now that he was really healed.
My two children were small when I began the study of Christian Science, and many were the healings they received. Before coming into Science, whenever the boy had fever he would have spasms. After the first treatment in Christian Science there was never another spasm. Among the many ailments overcome were mumps, measles, whooping cough, pneumonia, and influenza. Severe injuries received in an automobile accident were also healed.
I am grateful for our literature and the faithful ones at headquarters, also for the practitioners everywhere; and I want my life to be a help and not a hindrance to the Cause.
