DEAR God,
Teach me to pray
Understandingly!

Teach me
To use the words
Which tell of Thine omnipotence,
With authority,
And to prove them instantly,
As Jesus did.

And grant
These same strong words of Truth
May go from me with gentleness
To the hearts
Of the sorrowing and afflicted,
Causing them to know Thy tenderness,
And helping them to gain a vision
Of the glory of Love,
And by this shining vision
Be healed
Of their sorrow and pain.

Dear God,
Teach me to pray
Understandingly!
