Pendleton, Oregon (First Church).—The new structure of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Pendleton, at the corner of Main and Water Streets, is of Spanish mission architecture, and occupies a triangular shaped lot on the bank of the Umatilla River. The building is one story in height, low and rambling, as is common in the mission style. It is constructed of reinforced concrete and hollow-tile walls. The seating capacity of the auditorium is two hundred and thirty-five, and with the addition of the Sunday school and Reading Room will seat approximately four hundred and fifty persons. When the auditorium, Sunday school, and Reading Room are thrown together, every seat affords a view of the rostrum.
