On Friday evening before the Canadian Thanksgiving Day...

On Friday evening before the Canadian Thanksgiving Day, 1924, a cold windstorm suddenly rose, and having left some washing on the line I went hurriedly to take it in. As I steeped upon a pile of wood to reach a high line under the veranda, the wood turned under me and I fell with my full weight on my left side across the veranda railing, breaking a rib. Of this I was sure, for the broken ends grated as they passed one another. We immediately declared the omnipresence and omnipotence of God, as we are taught in Christian Science, and used no material method or bandage. Through the help received, I was able to spread the evening meal and clear it away, and except for one or two motions I was not at any time kept from performing the necessary household work. For two or three days the getting into and out of bed caused severe pain, but after the first evening there was no movement of the broken bone, which had knit. In less than a week's time the soreness was entirely gone, and I could turn and lie on that side comfortably.

For this and many other proofs of the availability of the power of God to help us through Christian Science, I am immeasurably thankful. Christian Science has been my only help with all kinds of problems for the past thirteen years, and has never failed to heal when earnestly and correctly applied. I am also most grateful for the blessing of membership in The Mother Church, and for correct teaching from a loyal teacher of Christian Science.—(Mrs.) Amey M. Connor, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
