It is now twenty-two years since I was healed of astigmatism and insomnia by Christian Science treatment. I had worn glasses from childhood, an oculist having told me never to lay them off; and I had to be very careful not to use my eyes too much. I had had two nervous breakdowns, and was on the verge of a third when a school friend spoke to me of Christian Science. My experience with physicians had been disheartening, and I gladly turned from their methods. After three weeks' treatment in Christian Science I was healed of the nervous trouble, and then asked the practitioner if she could help my eyes. She said, "God is your sight." The next day I went to school without glasses; and I have not needed them since, although I read and sew all I wish with no pain or strain.
At the same time, without my knowledge, a brother took up Christian Science and was healed of nervous indigestion and of muscular eye trouble for which he had several operations without the hoped-for results. It was an interesting moment when we discovered each other without glasses, and learned that we had used the same efficacious means of healing—Christian Science.
Other members of our family then became interested, and there were numerous healings. Abnormal growths due to impure vaccine, mushroom poisoning, tonsillitis, a sprained ankle, a crushed foot, catarrh, colds, coughs, appendicitis, chronic dysentery, influenza, and other ills were overcome.
