It is a real privilege to be able to express our gratitude...
It is a real privilege to be able to express our gratitude for the blessings received through Christian Science.
About three years ago Christian Science, of which my wife and I had never heard before, came to show us the table which our Father-Mother God had provided for us in the desert of materiality, where a false sense of life had kept us. I was at the time without work and resources, and to mortal sense the crisis of unemployment was becoming more acute. My wife was wasting away with tuberculosis. For two years she had received medical care, but in spite of the faithfulness of the doctor who was attending her, no lasting benefit was felt; she coughed continually, and had a great deal of trouble in maintaining our home. After hearing a lecture on Christian Science to which we had been invited, we asked help from a practitioner, which was lovingly given us. The mental regeneration was followed by the physical healing; my wife recovered her health, and I found work.
We have learned through this experience that God, all-powerful divine Love, ever present good, is able to meet every human need, in spite of the most trying human appearances. We thank all our Christian Science friends who have helped us with their good thoughts, and have thus given us an example of what Mrs. Eddy says in "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany" (p. 210): "Good thoughts are an impervious armor; clad therewith you are completely shielded from the attacks of error of every sort. And not only yourselves are safe, but all whom your thoughts rest upon are thereby benefited."
