I came to Christian Science at a time when, according to the medical profession, there seemed to be very little chance for my recovery from a complication of physical ills, such as heart trouble of long standing and Bright's disease, with its accompanying complications, that brought great fear into the home; for with each attack there was intense suffering and the expectation of passing on at any moment. This unhappy state had existed for many years, during which time I was never entirely free from some form of illness; and finally the above conditions became more frequent and alarming.

While away for my health one summer ten years ago I was attacked with usual symptoms. A daughter, who had experienced a beautiful healing in Christian Science a few months previous, said that if I would give up the medicines I was clinging to she would try to help me; and with the application of her very new understanding of this truth, the condition was completely met in just a few hours. But, as yet, I could not believe that it was possible for me to be permanently healed of the serious conditions which had been made so real to me. Upon returning to my home I suffered an acute attack of hay fever, for which I went immediately to a loving practitioner and experienced, another instantaneous healing. From that moment I became a conscientious student of the Bible and of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I had many treatments, and was constantly grateful for the opportunity of learning to know God and for the spiritual uplift and understanding I was receiving. I began to think less and less of the conditions that had been a constant menace, and soon realized that I had been completely healed of these troubles which had so long been pronounced hopeless by physicians; for I had commenced to realize the truth of what Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health (p. 224), "The power of God brings deliverance to the captive," also (p. 412), "The power of Christian Science and divine Love is omnipotent."

Since that time my blessings have been too numerous to relate here. Countless physical as well as financial healings have come into the home, and I am deeply grateful for all the help received; but most of all I am grateful for my greater understanding of God and His ever present love and care, and for our precious Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who has made it possible for the world to have this Science of healing.
