The Lectures

Introductions to Lectures

London, England (Seventh Church).

Lecturer: John Randall Dunn; introduced by Robert George Samuel Carter, who said:—

I owe everything to Christian Science for the past twenty years—health, happiness, peace, and supply. Several years ago I was suffering from a serious condition of the lungs attended by hemorrhage whenever I coughed. I asked for help in Christian Science, with the result that the whole thing disappeared in a few days, never to return. I was also healed in a few minutes of a dislocated finger, so that I could use the finger the next day. There are three words I have found most useful in trying to understand and apply Christian Science, and they are these: obedience, love, and loyalty. And when these qualities of thought are used in our earnest desire to know God aright, they never fail to elucidate His will and purpose toward us, so that we begin to apprehend the obedience of Abraham the life and love of Christ Jesus, and the loyalty of Mary Baker Eddy to her vision and revelation, a loyalty that never faltered, and as a result of which she saw Christian Science established on the earth.
