I wish to express my sincere gratitude for all the blessings...
I wish to express my sincere gratitude for all the blessings that have come to us since becoming interested in Christian Science. Until about three years ago I was a strong believer in the teachings of another church, and used to believe that our trials and tribulations, sickness and disease, were sent upon us by God. Many times have I said: "What have I done to deserve this? Why did God send this affliction?" I am now so glad to know, as Mrs. Eddy tells us in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 390), that "God is no more the author of sickness than He is of sin." Inharmonious conditions are only the manifestations of fear and wrong thoughts, and can be eliminated when we get a better understanding of God and His infinite love and ever-presence. Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, healed all manner of sin and disease by one method—through his perfect faith in God's allness and power. If we would only have as much faith in God as he had, how much more beautiful life would be!
My wife and I have had many remarkable demonstrations of healing in Christian Science. We also have a son who was born in Science; and it is so wonderful to know that he is in reality the spiritual child of God, and that nothing can harm him if we trust him to God. I am grateful that I found Christian Science, because it has helped me spiritually, physically, and financially. I am grateful to Mrs. Eddy for all the wonderful writings that she has left us, in which she explains the Bible and the teachings of Jesus in such an understandable and practicable manner.
