I entered the Christian Science church over nine years ...

I entered the Christian Science church over nine years ago, and being grateful for the many blessings received from God's divine law of love, I lovingly send the following.

As far back as I can remember I attended church and Sunday school, and it continued to be a pleasure until I was fifteen years of age. At this period I was asked to teach about thirty childten, and tell them all about God; but through lack of satisfactory knowledge I left the churches and Sunday schools behind, and did not reenter for a period of twenty years. My Sundays were filled in studying modern and ancient philosophy, but there was always an unfulfilled desire. Thinking good literature would meet the need, I became an ardent reader; but still there was a hunger for something more satisfying. I was a believer in surgery and medicine, thinking that by cutting away the bad the good might be saved. When I was preparing for a second operation, Christian Science was suggested to me by a graduate nurse. Physical help, however, was not my real reason for attending the Christian Science church. It was my incessant desire for something to make me happy. What it was I did not know; but, thank God, He knew how much I wanted to find Him, and I now know what Jesus meant when he said, "Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world."

I wanted to know what God meant by saying, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness." How lovely it is to know our thoughts should only be His thoughts—good; then man reflects his Maker! I wanted sufficiently to understand the divine law of Love to be able to "prove all things," and "hold fast that which is good;" and by His mercy I have. Joining The Mother Church, becoming a member of a branch church, and having the privilege of class instruction, have been realized through accepting the divine law of Love as my guide and interpreter.
