In a recent issue of your paper the report of a lecture on "Religion and Medicine" is given in which Christian Science is referred to as a false system and a faith-healing cult. On page 44 of "No and Yes" by Mary Baker Eddy, the author says, "My system of Mind-healing swerves not from the highest ethics and from the spiritual goal." The term "faith healing" as commonly accepted does not explain the healings of Christian Science, which are the result of that knowledge of Truth to which Jesus referred when he said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." It was through spiritual understanding that sin, disease, and death were destroyed by him; and it is in the proportion that a Christian Scientist gains the Mind of Christ that he is enabled to emulate these works to-day.
