[Original testimony in German]
I had consulted many physicians without being helped...
I had consulted many physicians without being helped to any extent. The last one I consulted was a specialist, and he said I was suffering from lead poisoning, contracted by working many years in a business in which lead was used. I also had a dark line on my gums and suffered from pains in the abdominal muscles, from indigestion and heartburn; in fact, I had all the symptoms which manifest themselves in the case of such poisoning. The physician said I must give up my work; otherwise it would be my ruin. But I could not decide to take up another occupation, and was therefore very sad and discouraged. Then I heard of Christian Science and commenced attending the services. I asked a practitioner for help, which was lovingly given. She told me that lead had no power to affect my health; for God is the only power, and evil has no power. I felt the truth so distinctly that it was manifest on my body. I was healed. To make sure of my healing I had one or two more absent treatments. All the pain and symptoms disappeared.
I am sincerely grateful to God for this beautiful and quick healing, and to our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science. Now I have learned that "not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth."
(Miss) Helene Ehlers, Hamburg, Germany.
