Among the Churches

Current Notes

Blaine, Washington (First Church).—Christian Science student from neighboring cities and towns in this part of the state and British Columbia, and not a few adherents of other local denominations, recently gathered to rejoice with First Church of Christ, Scientist, at the dedication of their new church edifice. The services were conducted according to the usual graceful simplicity which characterizes worship in the Christian Science churches.

Marquette, Michigan (First Church).—The contract for the new First Church of Christ, Scientist, erected at the southwest corner of Ridge and Blaker Streets, was let in July, and the building was turned over to the members of the church in December. The first services in the auditorium of the building have now been held. The entrance to the edifice faces the intersection of the two streets. Eight steps, balanced at either side by an attractive balustrade topped with a wrought iron standard light, lead to the three doors which open into a tiled vestibule. Within, three doors similar to those at the entrance permit ingress to the auditorium, a spacious, cheery room of fine simplicity. The auditorium provides a seating capacity of about one hundred and sixty.—Daily Mining Journal.
