I am grateful to Christian Science and to Mary Baker Eddy, who brought it to mankind, for happiness and a peace and quietness within, which I never knew until I took up this study. With Christian Science I feel I can face life's problems with assurance and success. The healing of physical ills has been of less moment to me than the desire for a practical religion.

The first year during which I studied our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, brought a greater degree of health to me and to our two children than we had ever known before. Several physical ills vanished, and this gave me the certain evidence that an increased understanding of God brings about better conditions.

Since that first years's study I have had some help from Christian Science practitioners, and have been healed of a sort of hives which had been making its appearance every four weeks. This healing was accomplished in one treatment; and in the following ten years there has never been a reappearance. Another healing was that of severe backache, which was due to a displacement. This was overcome slowly, after much study on my part and much faithful work on the part of a Christian Science practitioner. Friends and relatives advised and pleaded with me to consult a doctor, but I knew clearly that, all things being mental, the healing must be brought about by a change in thought. It has been several years since this took place.
