God Spoke to Me!

God spoke to me to-day!
It was a flower that told me of His love
And made me feel His joy was mine to share.
God spoke to me to-day!
A friend brought just the word I needed most,
Dispelling the illusion of my care.
God spoke to me!

God spoke to me to-day!
I read His holy Book and found therein
A hope that made my darkened pathway bright.
God spoke to me to-day!
A message came in answer to my call;
I welcomed it with joy, and there was light.
God spoke to me!

God, speak to me alway!
O Father, let me listen for Thy voice;
For 't is through prayerful listening I hear.
God, speak to me alway,
That hearing I may lose this sense of self,
To find myself with Thee—Thy kingdom near!
God, speak to me alway!
