Before taking up the study of Christian Science in earnest...

Before taking up the study of Christian Science in earnest about eight years ago, I was continually suffering from severe headaches, nervousness, loneliness, and weakness. It was difficult for me to walk more than four or five blocks without getting very tired. I was also full of hatred and resentment. Some of these ailments have entirely disappeared as a better understanding of God, the only Father-Mother, all-harmonious, has dawned on my consciousness. Christian Science has made me more loving and more forgiving, and has given me a wonderful sense of peace and contentment. What a blessing to know that there is but one Parent,—Life, Truth, and Love,—and that man can inherit only good! Our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, assures us in "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 127), "When a hungry heart petitions the divine Father-Mother God for bread, it is not given a stone,—but more grace, obedience, and love."

I am deeply grateful for having had the privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday School and, later, class instruction.
