In the years that I have been blessed with a little knowledge of Christian Science its efficacy has been proved to me in many seeming difficulties. When my husband joined the British Army in Canada during the war, it became necessary for me to return to my profession. In order to do this we had to find a boarding school for our boy, then seven years old. A practitioner made inquiries and found one which proved to be an ideal home.

I should like to mention a healing our son had during 1919. While playing round a fire which the boys had built out of doors, he fell into the flames and burned his leg. His father visited him that day, and there were blisters and the usual accompaniments of a burn. A Christian Science practitioner was called upon and began treatment immediately. Our son was not laid up at any time. Just two weeks later I found him looking well and vigorous, though limping slightly. Fear at once suggested to me that he might be lame. The boy himself evinced no fear or anxiety; and when I removed the bandage I frankly confess I was amazed and most comforted to find the leg healed except in one tiny spot, which yielded to treatment very soon afterwards. What a lesson that was, showing the impotence of mortal mind, error, in the presence of Truth! The limping disappeared with all the rest of the difficulty. He has had many other healings, of coughs, colds, and headaches. An attack of measles was healed almost immediately. I myself have been healed of coughs, fever, and sore throat.

For all these blessings with their attendant glimpses of ever present divine Love, I am indeed grateful. My thoughts of gratitude must embrace Mrs. Eddy, without whose enlightened thought I would still be in darkness, not realizing the deep blessing of Love which Jesus left for our acceptance. I want to express my gratitude to the dear practitioner whose clear thought has always helped to dissolve the darkness of mortal mind and has aided me in gaining a clearer vision of the divine Love which "always has met and always will meet every human need" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 494).—(Mrs.) Winifred Hanley-Kingsford, New York, New York.
