When I count my blessings I know not where to begin,...
When I count my blessings I know not where to begin, there are so many of them. I thank God that He has called me out of darkness into the light; I thank Him for our great Way-shower, Christ Jesus, and for our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy; also, that she was pure enough to receive Christian Science from God, and give it unselfishly, with a loving heart, to humanity.
Through the loving work of a Christian Science practitioner I was healed instantaneously of a bad case of headaches, of indigestion, and also of asthma. Other difficulties, such as neuralgia, nervousness, pain int the eyes, sore feet, backaches, and insomnia, were overcome, although more slowly. I had spent many miserable days with a sense of resentment, but it has lost its supposed power over me, for divine Love has healed me. Criticism, judging, and condemning have tortured me many times; but thanks to God, I am beginning to understand how to master them. I was also healed of the belief called change of life. I had been an invalid for over twenty years, and there were so many troubles to overcome. There was a long time that I was on the edge of the grave. I had worn glasses from girlhood, and had been told I could never take them off. One pair I put on immediately after rising in the morning and wore until the last thing at night. These I took off first. Then, soon afterward, I broke the reading glasses and left them off. For a while I could read only a little at a time, but it never hurt my eyes to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy; and, thanks to Christian Science, my eyes were healed.
I am so thankful for all of Mrs. Eddy's books and the understanding of the Bible through our Leader's works. I give thanks for our beloved Mother Church and The Christian Science Publishing Society, for The Christian Science Journal, the Christian Science Sentinel, The Christian Science Monitor, and the two Heralds. Our beloved literature makes me think of pure rivers flowing out all over the world, feeding the hungry and thirsty. I am also thankful for the Christian Science Quarterly Bible Lessons. I never can thank God enough for the blessings I get in reading the lesson every morning. I have had more problems answered through the study of the lesson than in any other way.
