With a feeling of profound gratitude for the continuous...
With a feeling of profound gratitude for the continuous benefits coming to me through the study of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and through membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, together with many other benefits, I am prompted to offer this my testimony.
Primarily, commercial problems were the chief reason for my turning to Christian Science for help. This was fifteen years ago. Great confusion had long engulfed me, at times in despair. Coming from active work in chemistry, and its many allurements, I seemed to gain slowly. In due time, however, came the clear realization that all right activity, commercial or otherwise, is under God's control; that a right basis, not always the object at hand, is always the deciding factor. In this specific direction I was healed of deepest enmity toward my fellow-men. Through the By-law, "A Rule for Motives and Acts" (Church Manual, p. 40), I came to know that "neither animosity nor mere personal attachment should impel the motives or acts of the members of The Mother Church." While asking for treatment for business difficulties, I was healed of long and excessive indulgence in alcoholic drinks. This healing removed one of the worst barriers to my general well-being.
Through Christian Science the belief in distance is being overcome by realization that God is ever with us. The work for me has almost always been through absent treatment. What further proof is needed of the omnipotence of Truth?
