Among the Churches

Current Notes

Great Barrington, Massachusetts (Society).—The executor of the estate has sold to the Christian Science Society of Great Barrington the Collins homestead at the corner of Main Street and Maple Avenue. The property includes four acres of land and a building thereon which contains twelve rooms. At present only the lower floor will be used for church purposes. A large front room has been found to be ideally adapted for the accommodation of such services, and by the removal of one partition it can be considerably enlarged. Another large room on this floor will be used as a public Reading Room. The Society eventually expects to erect a church edifice on the property, a location which is considered ideal.—The Berkshire Courier.

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada (Second Church).—Second Church of Christ, Scientist, corner of Twelfth Avenue and Cypress Street, is of classic, colonial design and is built of hollow tile. There is a large attendance at the Sunday school, and provision has been made for the children in the two-story building at the back, with entrance on Cypress Street. The members' business meetings will be held in the upper and larger of two rooms. This church, though small, will serve the Fairview, West Point, Grey, Kitsilano, and Kerrisdale districts, thus relieving the congestion at the downtown church.—Vancouver Sun.
