I am sorry I have so long delayed sending my testimony of gratitude for Mrs. Eddy's revelation of Christian Science. My first physical healing was of a sprained ankle. I was going away from home for a short visit, and on the way to the station slipped on a piece of orange peel. I felt nothing at the moment, but during the evening the foot became very painful and swollen. I said nothing, as my friends and I were just beginning to read the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy; but when I got up to my room for the night I repeated the "scientific statement of being" (p. 468) many times; for it was the only passage I knew out of the whole of that wonderful book. I strove to realize also that all is infinite Love. Within three quarters of an hour, as nearly as I could judge, I was impelled to move and found that I was quite healed, the one ankle being as normal as the other. The next morning I was able to take a fairly long walk. I have also been healed of severe headaches which recurred nearly every week, lasting three or four days and leaving me weak and useless.

Formerly I thought it of no consequence what I was thinking about at any time; but Christian Science has taught me better than that, and I now know that it is of very great importance. I have proved this many times. One instance I will mention. Not long ago I had been thinking good thoughts all day, repeating mentally a number of passages I had learned from Science and Health, chiefly on pages 330 and 331. On crossing the street at a bend, to return home, I was knocked down by an automobile which was going at great speed. I was under the car; but when extricated, I was not hurt in any way—not even bruised; and I calmly came home, grateful that God's promises, "My presence shall go with thee," and, "His reward is with him," had been again fulfilled.

I thank my heavenly Father for guidance in matters relating to business, without which I should not have known what to do. I thank the divine Mother God for helping me to do right in my household; and I am indeed grateful to Mrs. Eddy for teaching me of the nearness and might of God, our Father-Mother. We thank God for the Christian Science practitioners who aid us so patiently and lovingly out of our difficulties and help to heal our troubled thoughts, bringing that mental peace which passes all human understanding.
