Five years ago my sister was instantaneously healed of tuberculosis through Christian Science. When I witnessed this healing I was convinced that Christian Science is the truth. From that time I stopped reading novels, which I had been very fond of doing, and resolved to read Christian Science literature only. It took considerable time, however, before I made much progress, as my thinking at that time was steeped in material beliefs, also because of my unwillingness to let go of most of my cherished habits, among them that of smoking cigarettes. I can now, however, affirm having gained more purified thinking, and that many sinful beliefs have vanished into their native nothingness; and I am especially happy to testify to my healing of the smoking habit.
At one time I was almost overwhelmed by mental anguish and only desired to commit suicide; but this was also overcome by the truth through the loving help of a practitioner. I am most grateful for the uplifting and the regeneration of thought that have come to me through Christian Science, and also very grateful to practitioners who so lovingly have helped me along the way. I also wish to express my joy for the Christian Science periodicals, and for the great blessings these have brought me.
I am deeply grateful to God, who led me to Christian Science; to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower; also to Mary Baker Eddy for giving us the "little book," "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," which reveals the Divine Comforter promised in the Bible, revealing the truth of ever present Love and of man's true selfhood as God's image and likeness. My great desire is to gain more knowledge of Christian Science, and to have the privilege of serving the Cause.
