After suffering for more than a year with nervous prostration I began to read the Christian Science periodicals. The testimonies especially interested me because of their sincerity, so I began to wonder if I could not be helped. After some time I asked for treatment and began to read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, which surprised me more than any book I ever read; for it explained things I never expected to understand. My health began to improve slowly, but steadily, until the nervous attacks vanished and my home duties became a pleasure. So now I am daily grateful for health and progress.

Christian Science is a religion of health and harmony, purifying character and satisfying those who are hungering and thirsting after righteousness. The study of the textbook made the Bible a new book to me, and more practical for daily use. As I read the Bible Lessons, depressing thoughts gave place to cheerful ones. The periodicals are very helpful, each having its place; and in reading them all, one has little time to waste. As one continues studying, the spiritual meaning of the Scriptures unfolds, and it is a joy to gain new light and to realize the truth of the Psalmist's words: "He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
