Sincere gratitude is due to our all-loving Father for leading me to Christian Science. I have experienced so many wonderful proofs of God's protecting omnipotence that I wish to relate a healing.
One day I felt a pain in the little finger of my right hand. At first I did not take any notice of it, but as the pain grew worse I realized that to take no notice of error is an error in itself; for Christian Science teaches that the most insignificant inharmonious condition should be destroyed by Truth, before it takes on larger dimensions. No doubt, I was not earnest enough in my Christian Science work; for my finger grew worse, changed color, and red streaks extended up my arm.
My daily occupation brings me into contact with a great many people, and one who saw the hand thought it his duty to call my attention to the effects of blood poisoning, according to medical opinion. I am sorry to say I harbored the picture of error he described; and fear crept into my consciousness, so that I could not hold fast to thoughts of Truth, but was forced to ask a practitioner for treatment. Among other things, the practitioner lovingly declared that there is no fear in Love. But I could not overcome the fear, was not freed from pain, and was obliged to ask for treatment again.
