This testimony is given in grateful acknowledgment of the benefits received through Christian Science treatment at a time when I was in bed with bronchitis. Some years previous, when I was under the constant care of physicians, a similar attack had kept me confined to my bed for five weeks. My mother, who was a Christian Scientist, was at my home during this last attack, and suggested that I have Christian Science treatment. As I was in severe pain, breathing with difficulty, and very fearful, I allowed a practitioner to be called. She stayed with me about two hours. I was greatly relieved, and able to be up and dressed the next day, the entire time I was under the practitioner's care being about a week. That was thirteen years ago, and I have not had a return of the trouble.
I also want to tell of a wonderful healing I had a year ago, after an accident. The automobile in which I was riding was struck by a street car. I was thrown to the pavement, striking on my head and shoulder, and was picked up unconscious. Under my husband's direction (he not being a Christian Scientist), I was taken to the hospital and a physician called. The injuries were said to be concussion, broken collar bone, and an injured lung. Although unconscious, I asked for a practitioner. One was called, and loving, faithful work was done for me. So severe was the injury to my face that I was unrecognizable; the next morning, however, this was entirely eliminated. I was unconscious for five days, in the hospital for two weeks, and after returning to my home, recovered under Christian Science treatment from this otherwise probably fatal accident.—(Mrs.) Edith P. Cline, Kansas City, Missouri.
