Having enjoyed for the past nine years the benefits resulting from a right understanding of God and man, gained through a systematic study of the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I feel I must tell others of some of these blessings. The most painful symptoms of a stomach trouble from which I had suffered since childhood were relieved in the first reading of the textbook, and a bowel disorder was perfectly healed; but the complete healing of stomach trouble was experienced only after years of study and striving to become Christlike in my thinking and living. The fear was entirely overcome by realizing that the trouble was not in matter, but in my thought. Colds have been quickly healed, as well as influenza, headaches, and a severe attack of bronchitis, through the application of the truth. The greatest cause for gratitude is the overcoming of a critical, faultfinding, disagreeable disposition, and a constant fear of lack. I worried over everything, and was always unhappy, never knowing what peace of mind was.

I have been compelled to rely upon God for everything. Even my friends had to be found through this reliance. I thought, as do many others, that unless I had many seeking my personality constantly I had no friends; but the time came when I had to learn that our best friends are not necessarily those who persistently seek our companionship. I found, in fact, that such a condition was frequently merely "personal contagion" (see The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 116), and quickly turned to hatred when tried. A time of stress came to me, and to my great amazement and joy I found myself surrounded by loyal, helpful friends among those whom I had thought of only as acquaintances. This was a very valuable lesson to me, and its effects have been far-reaching. It taught me that God is able to supply all, and that we must rely upon Him and Him only to meet all our needs.

I am the daughter of a physician, and was a graduate nurse when I became interested in Christian Science, so I know whereof I speak. I have tested both systems of healing, the material as well as the spiritual. I am happy to say that I have never been disappointed in the results of Christian Science treatment; it has met all my needs and is helping me to solve all my problems. Other members of my family have been healed by it of rheumatism, colds, scarlet fever, running ear, toothache, painful and stiff joints. My niece was healed of a bad case of warts on the soles of the feet. This condition was so serious the child could scarcely walk; but after one week's treatment in Christian Science the warts all disappeared, leaving her feet soft and smooth.
