The Lectures

Introductions to Lectures

Lincoln, Nebraska (Society of University of Nebraska).

Lecturer: Robert Stanley Ross; introduced by Miss Lucy Weir, who said:—

To us as Christian Scientists the word "fellowship" has a much deeper meaning than is ordinarily given to it. According to the dictionaries it is intimate familiarity, friendly intercourse, or communion. In Christian Science we come to know that true fellowship is something far above intimate familiarity and friendly intercourse found in our common human relations. The vain attempts to establish peace, harmony, and brotherly love on a mortal basis have resulted in a world apparently seething with strife and the mad desire for place and power. It is in such extremity that humanity reaches out for something that will give it peace and rest. It is here that Christian Science is welcomed with its message of love.
