My gratitude for Christian Science and its beneficence...
My gratitude for Christian Science and its beneficence can no longer remain unexpressed. The understanding of Christian Science has proved to me many times that blessings have followed the bringing forth of the tithes of gratitude and an honest acknowledgment of what Truth has done for me through the application of Christian Science to my every problem.
After a long and constant search for a satisfying answer to an honest question, What is God? which my old religious faith could not answer, as my life was very discordant, mentally and physically, the services of a Christian Science practitioner were offered me by a member of the family who was about his Father's business. The seed fell in soil awaiting cultivation, and Christian Science satisfied my ceaseless longing to know God. After two weeks' study of its beautiful truth I was able to demonstrate it practically in healing my little girl of fever. From the very inception of its study drugs were discarded, so convinced was I of the truth of Christian Science and of its power to meet all human needs. A great sense of peace and harmony began to unfold.
Four years have passed since Christian Science was first brought to me. During this time I have proved God's power in a case of fire, caused by alcohol which I was using in connection with a gasoline iron, when my clothes and arms were covered with blazing fluid and the room was in flames. I came out without a mark upon me. Instantaneous healings of hemorrhage, goiter, mumps, and many minor physical discords have occurred in our home. Christian Science alone has showed me the real understanding of progress. I have been able to become a member of a branch church and of The Mother Church, also to have the privilege of class instruction and to help others as I have been helped.
