A little less than three years ago I became acquainted with the healing power of Christian Science. Our little boy was very ill, but after one treatment from a practitioner he was restored to perfect health. Somewhat later he was again attacked with the same difficulty, and I again called upon the one who so lovingly had helped us the first time. When a couple of days had passed and the baby was no better, I decided to get medical aid. My husband and I therefore took the little fellow to a baby specialist, who examined him and told us not to be alarmed if it took three weeks for the very large swelling in the groin of his leg to go down. At the end of that time there might possibly be the need of an operation. We spent about two hours in the doctor's office, leaving with a very sick baby. The baby manifested high fever and listlessness, and our hearts ached as we turned homeward. The druggist to whom we went for our prescription said that we would have to wait forty minutes, so we decided to go back and tell the practitioner about the doctor's verdict.

Oh, if I could but describe the feeling which came to me as I entered that office! Such peace—a peace which passeth all understanding—came over me! I knew that I had been led by Christ, Truth, back to this divine teaching for help. Needless to say, the child was instantly healed, and became active and happy. The doctor saw him the next day when he called at our home, and was astonished at the rapid change. The salve he told us to use I cast away, along with a whole medicine chest full of material remedies.

Although I never thought of being healed myself of any physical ailments, while diligently studying the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, for the sake of my little son, I myself was beautifully healed of certain internal disorders. There have since been healings of burns, cuts, also freedom from ugly traits of character, such as temper and envy. At one time I fell down some very steep stairs with the result of having some misplaced ribs. The healing was not instantaneous, but I stood firm, knowing that, as we are told in the Bible, "with God all things are possible." Then one afternoon I had a long talk with a dear practitioner, and within a couple of days I realized I was totally healed. The bones had gone back into their rightful place, and have given me no further trouble.
