Although I have been a student of Christian Science for many years, and it has met all my needs since 1914, I have never written a testimony, so I desire to give the following recent experience to others who may be in need, as the practical proof of the efficacy of Christian Science healing. During this time the following beautiful Bible text has been uppermost in my thoughts, the promise contained therein having a very soothing effect: "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temtation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."

While descending the basement steps I lost my balance, falling with great force to the cement floor, striking against a stone column and receiving severe bodily injuries, among them broken wrists and a broken arm bone. Altogether I was in a deplorable condition. I did not lose consciousness, but made my way up the steps, declaring as I went that God is Mind, "our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." My husband telephoned to a Christian Science practitioner, who came at once. He asked me if I were willing to leave all to God, explaining there was one great Physician, who healed all. As the condition was not accepted as real, there was no need of material aid or surgical interference. There were no casts, bandages, or drugs used. There was no discoloration of the affected parts; hemorrhage was completely controlled; and there was no evidence of stomach sickness. When the practitioner left, all was harmonious, another proof of the power of divine Mind and proof of the truth our Master was commissioned to reveal to mankind, the utterances of which were to rebuke and destroy error and to heal the sick. I am indeed grateful for the blessing and spiritual understanding as well as the interpretation of Truth which made this demonstration possible. In two weeks and two days I was able to use my right hand freely, and in five weeks was doing most of my housework.

I am grateful to God, to Mary Baker Eddy, and to the practitioner who so lovingly helped me over the rough places. I am also grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in the Christian Science Society here, for class instruction, and for active work in the field.
