The Lectures

Introductions to Lectures

Niagara Falls, New York (First Church).

Lecturer: Algernon Hervey Bathurst; introduced by Francis Peter Schram, who said:—

Jesus said, "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled." This is a sure promise. The Israelites in their journey through the wilderness to the land of Canaan were daily marvelously fed by manna—bread from heaven. On page 35 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mrs. Eddy says, "Our bread, 'which cometh down from heaven,' is Truth." Let us on our journey out of this mortal concept of life up to the spiritual, never doubt that we shall receive such a portion of this bread of Truth as will not alone sustain but invigorate us. According to our desire, our hunger for righteousness, for Truth, so shall we be fed; and this desire for something better is in every individual.
