Among the Churches

Current Notes

The Hague, Holland (First Church).—The new church of the Christian Scientists which is to be built on the sloping site at Zorgvliet, near the Banstraat, will be a structure of architectural value. Everything has been designed in simple lines without ornamentation. The building material will be of a grayish yellow brick. The windows will be of varicolored glass. The church will be in harmony with its surroundings. The Sunday school room will be built first, to be used temporarily for the services; and then the church building will follow.—De Nieuwe Courant.

Beardstown, Illinois (Society).—A milestone in the growth of the Christian Science Society of this city was marked when the residence property at Sixth and Washington Streets was acquired. Since the establishment of the organization, services have been held in a downtown building. From an original membership of a few faithful followers of Mrs. Eddy, the society has grown steadily. It is planned to use the remodeled residence property as a church for a year or so. Sooner or later the members anticipate building a beautiful church edifice on the site.—Virginia Republican-Gazette.
