Ever since Christian Science came into our family it has been my only help. As a child I used to suffer from many ailments; and at the age of seven years, I had an attack of muscular rheumatism. This trouble was supposed to have been hereditary, and I was therefore expected to have to deal with it all my life. The gradual change of thought in our home, however, began to do its own work, and the privilege of attending a Christian Science Sunday School was much appreciated. One by one the various ailments disappeared, never to return. During the war, great comfort was gained from reading the Bible, together with "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

After the war came a time of unhappiness and unrest. Our home was broken up, and two of the family passed on. Wrong habits began to have control, and I seemed helpless against them. Gradually I was being brought down by fear and depression. In this condition I was an easy prey to disease, and in a very short time was suffering from consumption and experienceing frequent attacks of hemorrhage of the lungs. It was in this condition that I turned to a Christian Science practitioner and asked for help. Words cannot express the gratitude I feel to-day for the faithful work done for me at that time, and to our Leader for the faithful work she must have done to enable her to present the truth to the world as she did. I was completely healed in a very short time; and when I was examined soon afterwards by a physician in London, not the slightest sign of the disease was found. Since that time I have enjoyed perfect health, and have been able to engage in any activity. The physical healing alone was wonderful to me, but the moral healing was greater; for those habits which had gradually been darkening my whole outlook in life left me entirely, and I knew what it was to be free. Together with all these blessings came one still greater,—the desire to understand more of this healing truth; and so I started a sincere study of all our Leader's writings.

To-day I give thanks that Christian Science was brought to our home, since all that I have of happiness or health is due entirely to it. For all that our Leader has done to give us this understanding I am truly grateful; also for the privilege of membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, and for class instruction.—Francis W.
