Feeling that I owe my life to Christian Science, I am only...
Feeling that I owe my life to Christian Science, I am only too happy to give this testimony, realizing that words fail to express the joy that fills our thought and life when healed through Christian Science, being thus brought into a knowledge of the all-good, the only power, God, who never separates Himself from the child He has created. How wonderful and how beautiful to awake and find ourselves learning of the real kingdom of God here on earth, now, and for us; and that we do not have to die and go to some unknown place to find heaven, but to realize, as Jesus said, that "the kingdom of God is within you"!
I am mentally, spiritually, and physically worth far more to myself and to the world because of a knowledge of Christian Science. I thank our heavenly Parent for the great truth which our Lord and Master taught and demonstrated, and which Mary Baker Eddy rediscovered. I am also grateful to the people who have so kindly, faithfully, and lovingly held out the one truth that heals all.
Early in the year 1922, I was taken with severe hemorrhages of the nose,—nine in all,—and also found them coming from another source. I called to my daughter who, being a trained, registered nurse, quickly informed me that I had had an internal hemorrhage and said: "Get into bed as soon as you can, and stay there. I want you to know there is nothing funny about this." And after making me comfortable in bed, she said: "Now, mother, you must have a doctor or a practitioner. Take your choice." I could feel myself growing weak and a certain sense of fear creeping over me, which I knew was not in accord with Christian Science; and so named a practitioner. The practitioner was called at once, and arrangements were made for absent treatment. There was only time to receive one treatment, when I said to my daughter, "It's all over." There was no mistaking the clear, strong, spiritual evidence. I was healed! Can words express the happiness, the gratitude? Do I not know it was the love of God, His truth and power sent to me through the Christian Science treatment, which took effect in the twinkling of an eye? Oh, to understand God more, and the quickness of Spirit!
