With the hope that my testimony may be a help to one who may be suffering, I want to tell of three wonderful demonstrations of healing wrought through faith in and the understanding of God's goodness, as revealed to us through Christian Science.

I was brought up in a so-called strictly orthodox faith; but at the death of our baby boy, my husband and I felt that we wanted no such God as was therein taught. Then followed my husband's death, and I felt I had no God to turn to. Later on my daughter's child was healed through Christian Science after two oculists had said she was growing blind. Christian Science was suggested to my daughter by a friend; and as a last resort she called in a practitioner, who in three treatments healed the child; and she has perfect eyesight today. Wishing that I might share in her new understanding, my daughter sent me some copies of the Sentinel, and later the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, which I now so dearly love.

On account of the feeling against Christian Science existing in both church and neighborhood, I read the literature in secret for three years before accepting the understanding made plain to us through the works of our dear Leader. Some time later I was afflicted with acute rheumatism and suffered terrible pain. I obtained the help of a Christian Science practitioner, who inquired if I believed in God and the Bible. She then asked me to read the ninety-first psalm; which I did. Then followed a silent prayer, during which I experienced a complete healing, not only of rheumatism but of chronic catarrh and hemorrhoids. Later, I was healed of gallstones. The practitioner was summoned at four o'clock in the morning, and at one o'clock in the afternoon I was sitting up in bed. Another healing was from a serious attack of acute indigestion. I was unconscious when a practitioner came to my bed. About fifteen minutes after that, I became conscious, and experienced another healing.
