With a heart full of gratitude I wish to relate my healing in Christian Science. For several years I was a great sufferer. I was able to leave my bed only occasionally, and grew visibly weaker and sicker. I went from one physician to another, from one method of healing to another, but could not find the right help anywhere. Even after I had undergone an operation my sickness returned very soon. I passed months in this condition; and when I was told there was no hope for my recovery, I broke down completely.

During my sickness a friend had called my attention to Christian Science, and I had received some books; but these I only glanced over, and so did not gain the right understanding of them. I laid the books aside and trusted mortal man further, instead of God. Finally I became so helpless in my sickness that I did not know to what I should cling. Only the one thought that there must be something which could help me was in my consciousness. But very soon I was to feel God's ever present love.

One day I heard that one seriously ill had been healed in Christian Science. I immediately opened the books again and read with such interest that I soon gained a slight understanding of what I read. A few days later I asked a Christian Science practitioner for help, which was lovingly given, and I became more and more convinced that Christian Science was the right way to regain my health. After the second treatment, which took place within a few days of the first, I was completely free from the terrible sickness. For over a year I have known no sickness of any description, because I now know that God does not send sickness, but that sickness is human belief.
