Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication for the Year Ended September 30, 1925

For the Province of Alberta, Canada.

In reviewing the work of the year, the writer is reminded of these words written by our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 66): "Each successive stage of experience unfolds new views of divine goodness and love." In the correction of impositions and injustices in the newspapers of Alberta, the opportunity has been afforded during the year to present correct facts regarding the life and work of our beloved Leader, and regarding the place occupied by the Christian Science textbook; to show that Christian Science, by its healing and regenerative work, is meeting the great need of humanity; to make clear that Christian Science is much more than faith cure, and that it is in no way connected with psychotherapy or any other method of suggestion; and to indicate that Christian Science is affording a satisfying solution of the problems of human existence. Thirty corrections of unjust or incorrect newspaper items were written during this period, and all except one of these were accepted and published. A number of articles favorable to Christian Science have appeared in the newspapers of this province.

A comedy which was played by the pupils of a high school in Edmonton contained an unjust allusion to Christian Science. This unfair reference was brought to the attention of the teacher of dramatic art by this office, and he very cheerfully had this offensive statement removed from the play.
