We read in Hebrews, "The word of God is quick, and powerful." I should like to tell of two very quick healings, where this was demonstrated.

One morning over a year ago, three or four hours after rising, I became dizzy. At first I did not pay much attention to it, but the discomfort seemed to become very acute and I became violently ill. I called my sister, for I thought for a time I was passing on. My sister came, and, not being a Scientist, caught my arm and felt my pulse. She said, "Let me get you something; I can scarcely feel any pulse." All this time I was unable to lie down without losing consciousness. Being so ill, I could not work for myself in Science, so we called a practitioner, and fortunately she could take up work for me at once. In less than half an hour my sister looked at me and said, "I think you can lie down now." I said, "I do not need to, for I am healed." I called the practitioner, and told her so; and then I went on with what I had been doing before the attack came on.

Another very quick healing occurred three or four years ago. A cold had been trying to make itself felt for about a week. I did not do any special Science work about it, as it seemed scarely worth noticing; but one evening, just after dinner, the condition became so alarming I realized that I must have help, and very quickly, for I could scarcely breathe or speak. My first thought was to telephone a practitioner; my next, to try to do the work myself. I went to my room, and the first thing I saw was The Christian Science Monitor. I picked it up and turned to the religious article. That day it was on "Life." I had read it about halfway through when I came to these words from "Love Your Enemies" in "Miscellaneous Writings" by Mrs. Eddy (p. 8): "Simply count your enemy to be that which defiles, defaces, and dethrones the Christ-image that you should reflect." I read these words over eight or ten times, when I realized I was entirely healed.
