The remarks in the book entitled "Superstition in Medicine," referred to by a rabbi, show an extraordinary ignorance of Christian Science. They are evidently the expressions of one who has failed to grasp the spiritual meaning of this subject. Our critic is quite wrong in declaring that the authorities anywhere "have been compelled to interfere in repressing the practice" of Christian Science. In the United States of America there are many statutes regulating the practice of medicine. In most of these acts there are provisions recognizing the right of persons to resort to healing by prayer, and in many of them the practice of Christian Science is expressly recognized.
