It is with a thought that I may help some one who needs the truth as I did when Christian Science was presented to me that I give this testimony. I certainly was in the dark, with no hope or faith in God; I was sick all over, and suffered so that I could not reason sanely. One of the best physicians in San Francisco advised an operation, saying I had prolapsus of the bladder. After submitting to this operation I awoke to the apparent fact that I was a confirmed invalid. The bladder seemed in a worse condition than ever, and all of my organs had dropped, so much so that I could do nothing for myself at all; and I suffered from adhesions. I had seven operations after that, consulted thirty-five doctors, spent months in hospitals, and took various treatments, giving every known method a thorough trial, until I was nearly distracted. From all of this I secured absolutely no relief whatever, and was finally informed that nothing more could be done. I became so discouraged that I lost faith in the Supreme Being, and even stopped saying my prayers. I was truly in the depths of despair. It was at this time that I turned in my extremity to Christian Science, and found God.

After reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy for three weeks, during which time I was constantly helped and cheered by loving friends and a faithful practitioner, I was healed. With joy in my heart and praise on my lips I realized that infinite Mind had met and dispelled all the error with which I had been bound for so many years, and that I was free to live as other people lived and to enjoy life again. I removed a surgical belt which had been worn for years, and which surgeons had told me I could never do without, and have never missed it. Acute stomach trouble was healed instantaneously; a stone in the gall bladder disappeared; constipation of years' standing was also overcome instantaneously; and many other proofs of the efficacy of divine Love to heal have been given me during the two years I have been a student.

My little daughter, eleven years old, has had many proofs of God's protecting care, and is an earnest student. About four years ago she had a fall, striking her side on the edge of some timber. She was unconscious when picked up, and peritonitis set in. She was rushed to a hospital, and after being treated for some time was sent home with the assurance that she would never fully recover from the fall, as it had injured the gall bladder. She was sickly and had to be kept out of school about half the time until we came into Science. Since then the light of Truth has shown us the falsity of the beliefs we were holding, and she is now the picture of health and happy childhood.
