[Written for the Sentinel]

"Be still, and know"

"Be still, and know that I am God."
Oh, just to stop and rest,
With consciousness of peace and love,
Upon the Father's breast!

What though the storms about me blow,
And error loudly screams!
It matters not; for through the dark
The star of Truth bright gleams.

I need not fear what human hate
Or selfishness can plan,
If I but know that naught can take
The love of God from man.

For Love alone doth guide our steps
To that blest land above;
Though trials come, I'll just be still,
And know that God is Love.
