[Original testimony in German]

In the winter of 1917 I had to go out to do some errands...

In the winter of 1917 I had to go out to do some errands while the streets were covered with ice. I slipped and fell on my right hand, so that I sustained a fracture. On the same day I sought help from a doctor. The hand and greatly swollen arm were placed in a plaster cast, and a week later the dressing was renewed in a different form. But there was no improvement. After another week the condition had become worse. I then went to a second physician, who took an X-ray photograph of the fracture in the joint and set the arm anew. However, the swelling increased, and it was impossible for me to move my hand. I was filled with fear that the entire use of the hand might become impaired, and was at a loss to know what to do. I had medical treatment for three months without success. I had also tried some household remedies and daily massage, which failed to bring and relief.

Then, in my extremity, a dear acquaintance of mine, who is an adherent of Christian Science, came to me. She called my attention to the wonders of Truth. Filled with joy, I accepted her advice and called upon a Christian Science practitioner. In a short time I was again able to do up my own hair, and also attend to sundry household duties. The healing progressed steadily, for which I am deeply grateful to God and to Christian Science. May many more sufferers find help and counsel in this teaching.
