To
attend divine service at least once on Sunday has been the custom of religious people for centuries; and certainly thus to serve God is manifestly the duty of men.
A Scripture
verse that Christian Scientist often quote is, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
In
this day of amazing activity, the gift of producing is looked upon as a profitable and praiseworthy endowment.
Every
sincere student who seeks an understanding of the truth in Christian Science learns early in his study of the Bible and of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, that he must attain to that spiritual understanding of prayer which fulfills only the divine will.
For a critic to infer that the term "Christian Science" is a misnomer is in itself illogical.
Just what the form of God is should be of little concern compared with the understanding of His wonderful intelligence and goodness.
Christian Science does not teach that there is no crime in human experience.
Christian Scientists are fond of quoting Scripture because the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, has enabled them to understand the Bible better than they ever did before.
Christian Science neither overlooks nor neglects the prime importance of salvation of the individual, but on the contrary, in both teaching and practice, strongly emphasizes the admonition of Jesus, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness.
A news item appearing in your issue of January 3, under a London date line, stated in effect that a group of clergymen and medical men, after hearing evidence on behalf of Christian Science and other modes of healing, had decided that the clergy could not heal the sick.
"Recently, it was my blessed privilege to spend several weeks at the Christian Science sanatorium.
Through
Christian Science the facts about God and man have been presented to mankind in terms so clear and cogent that all may understand; and, moreover, through actual demonstrations, conclusive beyond argument, proof of the truthfulness of its teachings has been adduced.
Men
have always known that without a definite purpose to commence with nothing of value can be achieved.
Beginners
in the study of Christian Science, as well as some of those who have for a time been familiar with its teachings, are sometimes heard to ask, Where shall I begin?
