My heart ever ascends with deep thanks to God for having led me to the beautiful teachings of Christian Science. Some time ago I was taken suddenly ill, so very ill that it was necessary to have a physician in attendance several times in a day. The physician, who was very kind, used every effort and prescribed material remedies, but to no avail. After I had been confined to bed for weeks, suffering agony without relief, another physician was called in; but he did not seem to be able to understand the case or relieve the suffering. Opiates were given me, and I was rushed to a large sanitarium and placed under the care of one of the best physicians. Immediately upon entering the sanitarium I was given very rigid examinations, and several X-ray photographs were taken. One picture showed two extra ribs on both sides, which the physician said were pressing on an artery and causing the pulse beat to stop. Also there was a formation in the gall bladder, and almost every ill "that flesh is heir to." I was told that it was necessary to have the ribs removed and the gall bladder drained, but I was not willing to undergo such a serious operation. I returned home suffering intensely, and went back to bed.

It was at this point that my husband, who knew practically nothing about Christian Science, asked me to try it. I obtained some literature and found it beautiful. After reading the testimonies of healing I decided to purchase a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, as I knew it contained the great healing truth I needed so much. At my first glance into that wonderful book, as I caught the first gleam of the great spiritual universe, how bright and beautiful all appeared to my awakened consciousness! I decided to attempt going to the Wednesday evening meeting, but was so weak I could not move without assistance. Leaning on members of my family for support, I dragged myself to the Christian Science church, declaring with every step that all things are possible to God. What peace and harmony reigned there! I bowed in silent prayer to God, and became willing as a child to be led into the understanding of Christian Science. From that moment I was strengthened, and with the faithful help of a dear practitioner I was raised from a bed of suffering to health and happiness, and have not been confined to bed since.

Through the earnest study of Science and Health and other Christian Science literature I have been completely healed, and am able to help others who are suffering from disease. I am striving daily to understand more of this great truth, and am endeavoring to prove my gratitude by letting my life attest my sincerity. Praise be to God, to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and to Mrs. Eddy for this glorious revelation of Truth that makes all mankind free.
