It is with sincere and heartfelt gratitude that I send this testimony of what Christian Science has done for me. When it came to me about ten years ago through a friend, I was mentally despondent and discouraged. My little boy had suffered for weeks from an affected gland of the throat. According to attending physicians he was threatened with lockjaw and nothing could be done without an operation. I was advised by my friend to try Christian Science. This was an unknown religion to me. With the help of a Christian Science practitioner in a few days the child was entirely healed, for which I am indeed grateful and give God all the glory. Words are inadequate to tell what benefit I myself have received physically and mentally.

While I was quite young in Science, before I knew how God's spiritual laws could be applied to all our physical ailments, my face was severely burned in a coal oil explosion from my cook stove. My first thought was for vinegar, linseed oil, or olive oil; and about all I knew of Christian Science was that Scientists do not use any material remedies. I quickly called my sister to read to me from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy; and within an hour I was perfectly comfortable. My face peeled off the next day, and I did not suffer any sense of soreness, all of which makes me very grateful to God for this great truth that makes us free.
