I wish to say a few words of gratitude for Christian Science

I wish to say a few words of gratitude for Christian Science. Coming in the hour of my greatest need, Christian Science has been a source of many blessings to me. Although at first and for a long while afterwards I little understood whence these blessings flowed, I am coming more and more through the study of the Bible, together with "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, to understand something of the "great First Cause," divine Mind.

For years I had yearned to know God. The creeds and doctrines of Judaism did not satisfy that yearning in defining a man-made God productive of both good and evil. And even after coming into Christian Science I had to struggle with this error of belief for some time before I finally became convinced that God is represented only by the idea of goodness. This spiritual healing proved of inestimable value to me, since with it came a desire to express in my daily walk more good. There also came peace, thus fulfilling the Scripture, "Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace."

Another blessing from Christian Science is in temptation overcome. Before attending college, I had never been thrown into the company of so many young men. It was through the truth as taught in Christian Science that I was enabled to prove the nothingness of any pleasure flowing from vice and sensuality; and it was only the application of that truth which enabled me to shun such diversion. Therefore it is with much gladness I can say that Truth is indeed the way to our heritage of freedom.
